Growing for Success

It is with pleasure that I invite you to attend the 2008 Australian Nut Industry Conference to be held at the Langham Hotel, Melbourne, Victoria on Monday, 22nd September.

Our theme, "Growing for Success" highlights 2008 as an important phase in the Australian Nut Industry.

The conference will bring together people with a major interest in learning about the new initiatives and growth trends emerging in the tree nut industry and associated supply chains, as well as providing an ideal opportunity to gain direct contact with key nut industry stakeholders.

Australia's tree nut industries is experiencing increasing growth rates and collectively becoming one of Australian horticulture's major sectors.

Plantings of trees in Almonds, Macadamias and Walnuts are continuing to increase leading to significant increased production levels.

Macadamias are exporting 70% of its crop - Almonds have reached domestic saturation and will now be a serious exporter.

Walnuts will replace imports over the next five years - all the other industries continue to expand in new plantings and exports.

A major marketing program - the Nuts for Life Campaign has had resounding results in sales increases with exciting plans continuing into the future.
